Awareness resources
At the British Liver Trust, raising awareness of the preventable causes of liver disease, which can lead to liver cancer, is a huge part of our work.
90% of liver disease can be avoided and our lifestyle choices such as diet, exercise and how often we drink can all affect our liver health.
The British Liver Trust has developed a range of materials covering the risk factors for liver disease and the signs and symptoms of liver disease. They are free to order and include posters and leaflets for display in GP surgeries.

Research and Clinical Trials
Research for liver cancer is poorly funded compared to other conditions. We partner with key organisations including funders and research bodies to influence how they and others invest in research.
We are keen to see research in the following areas:
- improve or find new methods for the prevention, early detection and screening for all types of liver disease
- improve or find new treatments for liver disease to benefit patients
- identify and address areas of unmet medical and research needs in liver disease
- advance fundamental knowledge within hepatology
